The first thing I did was purchase some old lamp shades from Good Will.
Here they are before:
This was very simple to do:
Step 1. Remove old Fabric from shade
Step 2. Make a template of the shade using a large sheet of paper. News paper works fine for this.
Step 3. Using the template cut out your fabric.
Step 4. Using spray adhesive spray shades and apply fabric. Smooth
Step 5. I used Iron on Hem tape for the trim. Simply cut to size an iron on! I also smoothed the wrinkles out of my fabric with the iron.
Here is a shade before the trim!
Here they are After!
Now that my shades are done we need a lamp! I found this lamp at Good Will. If only there were 2 of them! That would have been GREAT!
Here is the lamp before! It was pretty UGLY!
A little spray paint works wonders on old lamps!
Just be sure you buy one that works on metal. Krylon Fusion works well.
If the lamp is in really bad shape, prime it first with a metal primer like Rust-Oleum clean metal primer.
Spray is with your favorite color. Here I used Krylon Silver Metalic.
For a nice glossy finish top coat your lamp with a Rust-Oleum Crystal Clear Enamel.
